1.1. Aims of the course
The course and its expected results respond to the following approaches and objectives:
The main aim of the Practicum subject is that the student observes the professional role of a psychologist and performing the psychologist role in specific situations, if the professional center permits it.
The main objective is to transmit to the student the way of working in psychology in a work context, the planning, development and evaluation of interventions with users, teamwork and coordination with other entities and resources that serve the same users. In this sense, the subject will also constitute a framework in which students have the opportunity to consolidate all the knowledge acquired in the other subjects throughout the Degree.
The specific objectives are to be able to:
* Strengthen the learning of basic and instrumental theoretical and methodological skills of psychology.
* Develop the learning of interpersonal relationship skills with users and professionals.
* Join the work team and the intervention programs that have been designed by the professionals and are being executed.
* Understand the execution of the professionals based on the theoretical and methodological knowledge acquired in the Degree.
* Prepare a Diary of the experience and capture the results of the practical stay in a Practicum report.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/), in such a way that the acquisition of the results of Subject learning provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to its achievement:
Objective 3: Health and well-being.

1.2. Context and importance of this course in the degree
The Practicum is a compulsory subject that is located in the last semester of the studies of the Degree in Psychology. In this way, the direct contact with the professional world and the observation, accompaniment and execution of the tasks of the psychologist occurs after passing practically all of the basic, compulsory and specific training of the degree, where the students have already had to integrate the fundamental theoretical and methodological knowledge of the discipline.
1.3. Recommendations to take this course
The Practicum is a compulsory subject for the second semester of the 4th year of the degree, with a load of 18 ECTS credits (450 hours, 240 of which are compulsory attendance at the internship center, distributing the rest of the hours in autonomous non-attendance work of student).
This subject is located in the last semester of Psychology studies so that the student has previously acquired a large part of the skills of the degree. In order to take it, it is established as a requirement that the student:
Has 180 credits passed and recognized in the academic record in September (150 credits of Basic and Compulsory Training + 30 elective credits).
Has in February passed and recognized in the academic record 180 credits (150 credits of Basic and Compulsory Training + 30 elective credits).
Students must behave appropriately to the professional situation in which they find themselves and abide by the indications of the code of ethics of professional Psychology, especially with regard to the data confidentiality of the center's users and workers.

Recognizes and critically assesses the contributions provided by scientific research and the theoretical knowledge acquired in the Degree to the observed professional practice.
Recognizes and critically assesses the methodological foundations acquired in the Degree in the observed professional practice.
Knows the legal framework that regulates professional practice and adjusts to the ethical principles and deontological code of Psychology.
Evaluates the needs of one or several users, designs a specific intervention, applies said intervention and evaluates the results, all to the extent of the possibilities offered by the practice center.
Understands and is able to prepare written and oral reports.
2.3. Importance of learning goals
The learning outcomes of this subject are essential for the completion of the Degree studies, to the extent that they involve contact and supervised execution of professional tasks in a work environment of interest to the student prior to graduating as a graduate in Psychology. The skills acquired and/or strengthened in this subject are basic for work in the professional world in public or private entities.

* Attendance at the Introductory Seminar and at the Center (240 presential hours) is mandatory and non-compliance, not justified before the Degree Practicum Commission, will be a direct cause of failure in the subject.
* In order to pass the subject, in addition to having complied with the aforementioned mandatory attendance, students must have obtained at least 5 in the evaluation carried out by their professional tutor and another 5 in the evaluation carried out by their academic tutor.
Note: In the event of a health alarm, non-face-to-face practical activities will be carried out.

4. Methodology, learning tasks, syllabus and resources
4.1. Methodological overview
The learning process that has been designed for this subject is based on the following:
First, an accompaniment of the students has been designed to carry out the practicum that implies the coordinated and planned interaction of their two tutors: professional and academic.
Secondly, a sequence of activities has been designed that includes the following modalities:
- Introductory seminar to internships
- Attendance at the practicum center: observation and accompaniment of the professional task execution.
- Self-directed activities: search for information, deepening in the practical cases, design and preparation of evaluation and intervention material.
- Attendance at tutorials with the academic tutor
- Preparation of the Practicum Report.

PHASE I: First phase of election
Second week of November. Publication in Moodle of: information sheets of centers, list of places available by center and list of students ordered by academic record. Carrying out preliminary interviews in the centers that require it.

If a student is interested in a place offered by a Collaborating Center whose record requires a prior interview, they must contact the Professional Tutor, make an appointment for the interview and, once it has been carried out, the Professional Tutor must inform the coordinator the result of the selection.
